Neither train was derailed, though both trains have sustained minor damage: scraping down the side of the train and a dent on the front of the Crayford train. Power has been switched off and Emergency services are on site. Both trains are 8 car Networkers; sliding door surburban stock that came into service from 1993 onwards. Both trains have "Black boxes" and information on the incident will be downloaded late today. Passengers on the Crayford train have been detrained via the platform at Hither Green. Nine minor injuries are reported on the Crayford train - eight people are being treated for shock and one for whiplash. Passengers on the Sevenoaks train which stopped outside the platform were detrained by 11.40 and escorted from the track via a safe route. Buses are waiting to take passengers to Lewisham to complete their journey. Initial investigation is now under way into the cause of the incident. Train services are severely disrupted as a result of this incident although the fast line to London is now open. Replacement buses are being supplied and tickets are valid on local London Transport buses. For details of latest train running please see train service at-a-glance.
