London’s Train Companies will launch a £1.5m five week campaign featuring television and radio advertising campaign on 27th January 2003.

The ‘2 for 1-Plus’ offer runs to the 30th April enabling rail passengers to take advantage of ‘2 for 1’ entry into top London attractions such as the Tower of London, London Aquarium, London Dungeon, Kensington Palace and IMAX Cinema as well as a huge range of museums, art galleries and historic landmarks.

Targeted at people living in and around the Capital, the £1.5m campaign is being funded by London’s train operators with the support of the London Development Agency to promote London as a day out destination by train.

Paul Smith, Director at the Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC) said: "This fun campaign is London’s biggest rail promotional campaign for 20 years, not only will passengers benefit by saving money and having a great day out, we also hope it will encourage more people to use the train when they visit London.

"In the past we have found that combining the advantages of public transport with London’s top attractions is a winning combination. We hope this promotion provides people with an idea for a day out that they would not have considered."

The campaign, developed by McCann-Erickson, will consist of television and radio advertising with six million brochures and is designed to create an upbeat feeling towards leisure travel by train and also to show that London is for everyone.
