10:00am, 17 March 2008: Kent, UK - Paul Chapman, Managing Director, HS1 Ltd today hosted a visit by the Secretary of State for Transport, Geoff Hoon and local Dartford MP, Dr Howard Stoate at Ebbsfleet International station to view the fit-out and preparations for Southeastern's high speed domestic services commencing later this year. Southeastern will operate high speed domestic services on High Speed 1 from Kent to St Pancras International, with connections available to over 150 towns and cities elsewhere in the UK. At Ebbsfleet International, a new link connects High Speed 1 with the existing North Kent Line providing a high speed connection to London for Gravesend and the Medway towns.
