National Express East Coast is continuing to run the East Coast business and we will continue to operate all of our services to current timetables. Despite suggestions that the Government is taking over the running of East Coast today, this is absolutely NOT true. Further comments that the National Express Group has “financial problems” which have led to it “defaulting” on its commitments to East Coast are also NOT true. In summary: National Express East Coast will continue to operate all its current services on the East Coast route to current timetables All existing tickets and travel documents will continue to be valid and honoured, including advance sales and bookings. Customers should continue to book advance tickets for future journeys through the normal arrangements at stations, on-line and by phone National Express has made great improvements in train punctuality and customer service and this focus will continue unchanged. The safety of passengers and reliability of services remain our number one priority
