Commenting on a story about the cost of commuting, a spokesperson for the Rail Delivery Group said:
“On average, people travel just over 10,000 miles a year on an annual Season ticket with the average price of a journey around £5 or 24p per mile, which can be half the equivalent of commuting by car.”
