HS1 congratulates its CEO, Nicola Shaw, for being chosen for the London First Chairman’s Award at the 2015 London Awards ceremony last night. In their third year, the London Awards aim to mark key individuals, activities and projects that have contributed to making London the best city in the world in which to work and play. The Chairman’s Award is an accolade that was created to recognise and celebrate an individual that has made a special contribution to making London the best city in the world to do business. Announcing the award at the ceremony, London First CEO Baroness Jo Valentine highlighted the contribution that Nicola has made to “improving public transport in the UK” throughout her career, described HS1 as “one of the major international routes into the capital” and praised St Pancras for “providing that important first impression for visitors to London arriving from the continent”. Nicola Shaw said: “It was a wonderful surprise to receive the Chairman’s award. London has an enviable reputation as one of the best connected cities in the world, and its transport infrastructure is of course crucial to this; my teams and I are delighted to play our part, constantly working to improving the quality of experience for passengers on our line and visitors at St Pancras, and helping to keep London working”.
