Responding to the ORR’s consultation on the accessibility of rail replacement services, Dominic Lund-Conlon, head of accessibility and inclusion, said:

“Train companies fully understand how important it is for everyone to be able to travel safely, with dignity and in comfort. The ORR’s consultation is an excellent opportunity for disabled passengers to really influence how accessible rail replacement services are delivered and we would encourage everyone to respond so that we know how best to improve in this important area.“

Background
:
Train companies would specifically like people to consider when responding:

o What works best for you as a disabled person?
o What needs to be taken into account for your journey, such as mobility equipment, assistance animals, luggage and anyone travelling with you?
o Where you were taken from and to?
o Were you taken to a destination that wasn’t a railway station and how helpful was this to your overall experience?
o What the positive and negative elements of your overall experience were.
