Government's appointment of special administrators to oversee the affairs of Railtrack plc. Jarvis has already received assurance from the relevant government department over the weekend that the work schedules in which the Company is engaged will be unaffected by the appointment of administrators. The Government has stated its intention to form a new private sector company without shareholders, working in the interests of the whole industry, with any surplus generated from the activity of this company being invested in the network. Jarvis also welcomes the government's commitment to spend £30billion to improve the network and will play its full part in achieving the objective of a modern, safe and reliable railway. As a leading player in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) process we are also pleased to note the government's continuing commitment to PPP in transport and other infrastructure capital projects.
