A spokesperson for the Rail Delivery Group, which speaks on behalf of the railway, said: “While these latest figures show almost nine out of ten trains arrived as planned last month, up on the same period last year, the industry remains committed to improving its performance because it matters to our passengers.

"We apologise to anyone whose journey has been disrupted by the severe weather, particularly in Devon and Cornwall where disruption will continue for some time to come. Rail staff have been and continue to be out working to clear and repair the railway, provide information to passengers and help them reach their destinations safely.”
