A spokesperson for the Rail Delivery Group, representing rail operators and Network Rail said: “We hope the parties involved are able to reach agreement and that passengers and the wider economy will not be adversely affected.
"In the meantime, the industry is working together to ensure passengers are kept informed and that contingency plans are in place to manage potential disruption to passengers."
