New consultancy brings fresh thinking to rail sector

A new, independent rail logistics consultancy, specialising in the business of moving freight and people by train, was launched today (Thursday 8 September).

The Rail Logistics Company has been established by a group of experts in the field to help meet the calls for neutral advice on rail logistics.

Co-founder, Julian Worth, explained that there was a clear demand for information on how to maximise the benefits of moving goods and people by rail.

"One of the barriers to accessing the services offered by the national rail freight network, for example, is a lack of independent advice on how to get the best out of the sector," he said.

"We want to help the new-to-rail potential customer or a current user looking for a better deal. Things change quickly these days so talk to us if you are anywhere between being a former rail freight customer or you have a major project to manage.

"We have the people who can explain the what, how, where, when and, importantly, why rail freight.

"We will tell you how the train fits in your supply chain. We'll advise on regulation, infrastructure, wagons and freight hauliers. We'll tell you about the best terminals and the cost of entry," he added.

"If you want to know which railfreight operator or wagon provider to use or how much it costs to move goods by rail just call. The Rail Logistics Company will demystify the whole process."
