Southern
The second South Central franchise operated by Govia was initially branded New Southern Railway, and then became 'Southern'. Southern absorbed the previously separate Gatwick Express franchise on 22 June 2008 as the result of reforms set out by the Strategic Rail Authority in 2004 in its Route Utilisation Study for the Brighton Main Line.
