ATOC: the Association of Train Operating Companies
 Network Rail
The Rail Delivery Group connects train operators and Network Rail, to represent the British rail industry.
The RDG was formally incorporated 18 February 2013, having been recommended by Sir Roy McNulty in his report 'Realising the potential of GB rail', published 19 May 2011.
It has full members, who are representatives of the main operating groups and Network Rail, and associate members, who are other rail-related organisations. It does not, however, include the industry supply chain, which is represented by the separate Rail Supply Group.
It took over the public and communications functions of ATOC (the Association of Train Operating Companies) in 2013 and the merger was completed on 24 October 2016. Since then the RDG has also provided several internal industry services, including Rail Settlement Plan and Staff Travel.
